Flat Stomach Exercises > Flat Stomach Fast > How to Lose Stomach Fat

Losing stomach fat is not an easy task for everyone, and the older a person is, the harder it usually is to lose it. However, it can be done, and if you follow a program of diet and exercise faithfully, eventually the stubborn stomach fat will go away. Nutrition is a very important factor, of course, and there are many different opinions on what constitutes a healthy diet. The most important thing is to choose a healthy eating plan that you can stick to. It does not matter how good a diet plan is, if you cannot commit to it on a long term basis, it is not going to work for you. The best overall diet plan is one that incorporates a wide variety of foods, so that you will not get bored with a limited number of foods that you can eat.

Losing Is A Process

Getting enough protein is important, and you can find protein in lean meats, poultry, fish, eggs, beans and legumes, soy and nut products. Try to keep the fat content down as much as possible, and try not to consume more than about 35 grams of fat per day. Carbohydrates can be consumed on a healthy eating plan, but avoid processed sugar and flour, and try to consume foods that are high in fiber, and low is sugar content. Whole grains are best, and fresh fruits and vegetables should be eaten on a daily basis. Fats should be used sparingly, so be careful to use things like butter and mayonnaise very lightly, if at all.

Daily exercise should be a part of your routine. To get started, walking is one of the best exercises you can do. Try to walk extra steps every day. You can do that by parking further away from your destination and walking the rest of the way. Taking walks early in the morning or in the evening should be something you do every single day. Another way to burn fat is to lift weights. Start out with some light hand weights and try to do as many repetitions as you can. Every other day is enough for weight lifting, and the days that you do not lift weights, you can do some simple abdomen exercises, such as situps or crunches. Do as many as you can do every day, and soon you will see improvement in the number of repetitions you are able to do. Making these changes in your lifestyle, and sticking to them will result in a loss of stomach fat, and a loss of body weight. If you make a mistake, and eat something that is not good for you, or skip a day of exercise, it is very important to keep going and not give up. It is too easy to find excuses for not sticking to your plan, but your plan will only work for it if you do stay on it, and refuse to let old habits take over once more.

Keeping a food journal is a good idea for the first few weeks, as long as you are completely honest with it. It will help you to see your eating patterns and understand how they affect your weight loss. Keep looking for new ways to exercise, and consider taking up a sport or hobby that requires a lot of body movement. As you progress, you will find your spirits lifting as you find new energy is making it all much easier for you.
