The headline itself sounds crazy, I know. You are asking yourself, 'How can I eat more and lose weight?' Well, as crazy as it sounds, it is more effective if you do eat more often as opposed to eating less often. By now your head is spinning and everything you thought you knew about weight loss is being challenged. But stick with me through is article and allow me to specify what I mean by that.

For most people who want to lose weight, they know that they are consuming too much and because of that, extra fat has gathered on their body. So naturally, they decide that they will just eat less and that will allow them to lose weight. That sounds reasonable enough, and that can be an effective method of weight loss. Next, there are those people who recognize the same problem, but they decide that they will eat as little as possible in order to lose the fat as quickly as possible. If you find yourself thinking that way, then you need to pay real close attention to the rest of this article.

Here is a simple truth, extreme weight loss techniques such as crash diets or starving yourself don't work like you think and often times they do more harm than good. Your body usually burns fat and calories at a near constant rate. You can affect that rate in many ways, but for now let's focus on dramatic cuts in what you consume daily.

If you dramatically reduce your rate of consumption, then your body will panic and go into a sort of hibernation or protection mode where it starts using calories as slowly as possible in order to conserve what reserves you have. This isn't really a bad thing because it is pretty much a safety system your body has built in to protect itself from starvation. But this really doesn't help you when it comes to weight loss.

So by drastically reducing your in-take, you really won't help your body burn fat any faster, and you will suffer needlessly. Of course, starvation will eventually help you to lose body fat, and just about everything else in your body that keeps you healthy. So stay away from this line of thinking because it won't help you lose weight in a healthy way, it will cause you to suffer greatly, and there is a much better way!

Ok, so what is the better way? Well it is pretty much what I described in the title of this article. By eating more often, you can lose more weight. Let me explain, as stated above, your body burns calories at a near constant rate, so you can reduce the rate of consumption and still burn energy at the same rate. How is this done?

Well, what triggers your bodies protection mode is the sudden shock to your system of not having a new source of energy available when it expects it. What you need to do is to break your usual 3 meals per day into 5-6 snacks that occur throughout the day. By doing this, your body will keep getting a new and constant source of calories to burn, but you can make it so that the 5-6 meals will overall be less than the standard 3 meals in terms of calories! So your body will keep burning at the same rate, but at the end of the day your body will have consumed less overall! Meaning that your body will pull fat from the rest of your body to make up the difference.

This technique will not only allow you to eat less in a day, thereby helping you to lose weight, but it will also make you less hungry through the day because you will be eating more often. So how do you accomplish this? Well, break your meals up into smaller healthy 'snacks' that you can eat throughout the day, usually every 2-3 hours.

This will keep you from going hungry, and help you lose weight. What more can you ask for? So stay away from the dramatic diet techniques that make you suffer and don't deliver the results you want. Instead, work your daily eating schedule to help you eat more often and lose more weight!
